Welcome Remark

We sincerely appreciate for visiting the website of the Corporate Association of Gaeseong Industrial Complex (hereinafter referred to as "CAGIC") and I would like to greet all of you on behalf of all the entrepreneurs of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex(GIC).

Since the completion of the model complex in June 2004, the GIC has been developing as a venue where the workers of South and North Korea cooperated to pursue production and economic activities, and CAGIC was established at the beginning and has been closely cooperating with the North and South Korean governments and relevant authorities for the successful settlement of the GIC which is a large-scale economic cooperation project between the North and South.

Though there has been a lot difficulties which threatened even the existence of the GIC itself due to the strain and political problems between the North and South, all the entrepreneurs and workers of GIC have endured steadily and sincerely dedicating to our works with the positive mind that temporary difficulties are necessary for the growth.

However since the announcement of South Korean government on "the suspension of GIC" on Feb. 10, 2016 and the sequential announcement of North Korean government on the closure of the complex, the GIC is currently blocked. As it has been over 5 years since the suspension of GIC, it doesn’t seem to be possible to re-open the GIC in the near future, and it’s so pitiful that lots of enterprises are withering to death, suffering severe damages due to the closure of the complex.

CAGIC will make the best efforts to secure the funds for the survival of the tenants in GIC and to find policy suggestions for the re-opening and restoration of GIC. We will appreciate all the concerns and supports home and abroad.
