4 Efforts for re-opening of the GIC
Explained the need of re-opening of the GIC to the U.S. House of Representatives
- In June 2019, U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs’ subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation held a seminar on the GIC.
- - CAGIC had an opportunity to explain the need for re-opening of the GIC, and asked for cooperation.
- H.E. Brad Sherman, the former chairman of the Foreign Affairs’ subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, central Asia and Nonproliferation, and some members of the subcommittee were present at the seminar.
- In October 2019, a letter of proposal for the re-opening of the GIC was delivered in Los Angeles by the chairman of Kbiz. (see attachment 2)

Non-governmental campaign to call for the re-opening of the GIC and continuous request to Korean government and the National Assembly
- CAGIC Called for the re-opening of the GIC to Korean government on February 10th every year.
- CAGIC joined the “National Movement to resume tours to Mount Kumgang and Gaeseong Industrial Complex” to urge the re-opening of the GIC.
- CAGIC conducted a rally and a signature-collecting campaign calling for the re-opening of the GIC.
- CAGIC conducted a campaign for International petition for the exemption of the sanction on the GIC. (AVAAZ.ORG)
